About me

Starting therapy can be nerve-wracking or scary, with clients weary of feeling judged, vulnerable, or embarrassed. One of the important ways I try to be empathetic is to appreciate you as a whole and unique person, not a symptom or clinical diagnosis.

I practice psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy, one of the few modalities that is radically interested in the deepest parts of ourselves, our dreams, desires, and inner conflicts. While psychodynamic treatment is not a quick fix or silver bullet, it is not interminable. Our emotional conflicts and struggles can fall away when we develop a new creative way of dealing with what is causing them.

I’ve been working with adults, young adults and adolescents for over ten years, with extensive experience treating college, graduate and international students. I also pay close attention to social, cultural and environmental circumstances, ethnic and religious backgrounds as well as the realities of migration. In addition to English, I speak French and Arabic.
